
Residents of Duayaw Nkwanta in the Ahafo Region have been left in shock following reports that a police officer allegedly shot himself dead at the charge office.
According to initial reports, the deceased, identified as Sergeant King Brown, is said to have taken his own life with a service weapon while on duty.
Eyewitnesses indicated that the incident occurred under circumstances yet to be fully established, and investigations have since been launched by the police administration.
Sources further disclosed that Sergeant Brown, aged 40, left behind a wife and an 18-month-old baby. Community members described the news as heartbreaking, adding that the officer was well-known and respected in the area.
The Ghana Police Service has not yet issued an official statement, but security analysts have urged the public to remain calm as inquiries continue.
