Sunyani is about to come alive with energy, rhythm, and movement as the National Sports Authority (NSA) Bono Region prepares for its much-anticipated health walk, “Walk with Bono Stars,” happening on Saturday, November 22, 2025.
The event, championed by the Regional Director of the NSA, Mr. Kwame Baa Mensa, promises to unite people from all walks of life; sports enthusiasts, musicians, comedians, heads of institutions, politicians, students, and everyday fitness lovers, in one big celebration of health, networking, and community spirit.
“Walk with Bono Stars” is not just another walkathon. It’s an initiative designed to promote healthy living, foster unity, and showcase the vibrant sports culture of the Bono Region.
Speaking ahead of the event, Mr. Baa Mensa shared his vision for the walk, saying:
“This is more than exercise, it’s a statement that Bono is active, united, and ready to take sports and recreation to the next level. We’re walking for our health, our togetherness, and our shared development.”
Participants will gather at the Residency close to Eusbette hotel, where the event will kick off early in the morning. The walk will snake through some of Sunyani’s principal streets before halting at the Sunyani Coronation Park for aerobics, light games, and networking activities.
The walk will see high-profile participation from the Bono Regional Minister, Members of Parliament, the Sunyani Municipal Chief Executive, and several heads of institutions and corporate bodies. Local gyms, fitness centers, and sports associations across the region have also confirmed their participation.
According to the NSA Bono PRO, Mr. Emmanuel Boakye-Yiadom Kusi, the event will mark the beginning of a new era of community-centered recreation and sports engagement in the region.
“We carefully drafted the theme, Sports, for friendship, for health and for development. Through initiatives like this, we’ll inspire people to stay active and connected, because sports is a unifier, a healer, and a builder of strong communities,” he noted.
The “Walk with Bono Stars” is open to everyone, young or old, fit or just getting started. Registration is free, and participants are encouraged to come in their sportswear, ready to move, sweat, and connect.
The NSA has called on corporate institutions, media houses, and local businesses to support the event by promoting it on their platforms and encouraging participation.
As the countdown continues, the excitement in Sunyani is already building. For the NSA Bono Region, this walk is more than just a day’s event, it’s the beginning of a movement to make sports and recreation a lifestyle in the region.
So lace up your sneakers, grab your water bottle, and get ready to walk, network, and sweat it out with the Bono Stars!
