In a recent interview on Suncity Radio, independent parliamentary candidate for Sunyani East Constituency, Mr. Ransford Antwi, expressed his heartfelt belief that newly elected Member of Parliament, Hon. Seid Mubarak, will outperform outgoing MP, Hon. Kwesi Ameyaw Cheremeh.
Speaking for the first time since the elections on Saturday, December 7, 2024, Mr. Antwi revealed that his decision to run for office was motivated by his concern that Hon. Ameyaw was leading the constituency down a path of doom. Mr. Antwi’s desire to intervene and save the city drove his campaign.
Despite not securing the seat, Mr. Antwi graciously acknowledged Hon. Seid Mubarak’s victory and expressed his willingness to support the new MP in developing the city. “Though I didn’t win, Seid is better than the outgoing MP,” Mr. Antwi stated.
Mr. Antwi cited his past support for Bofoakwa Tano FC as a testament to his commitment to helping Hon. Seid Mubarak succeed in developing Sunyani. “The fact that I was able to support and help Bofoakwa Tano FC as a staunch BA fan should tell you I’m willing to help Seid develop Sunyani if he requests my assistance,” Mr. Antwi emphasized.
Notably, Mr. Antwi mentioned that neither the National Democratic Congress (NDC) nor the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has reached out to him since the elections. As a result, he will now focus on his business ventures and philanthropic work.
Mr. Antwi’s endorsement of Hon. Seid Mubarak as a better MP for Sunyani East Constituency is a significant development, highlighting the importance of unity and cooperation in driving progress in the region.
