Ghana Blackstars coach Otto Addo has named his 25-man squad for the upcoming AFCON qualifiers against Angola and Niger. The team, which features a blend of experienced players and new faces, will be led by Thomas Partey, who takes over as captain in the absence of Andre Ayew.
The squad includes several familiar names, such as Mohammed Kudus, Alexander Djiku, and Jordan Ayew, who will serve as Partey’s deputy. However, there are also some notable absentees, including captain Andre Ayew, who is believed to be focusing on his club career.
Newcomers to the team include Ebenezer Annan, Kingsley Schindler, and Brandon Thomas-Asante, who have all impressed in recent performances. Inaki Williams, who recently switched allegiance to Ghana, also makes his debut in the squad.
Ghana will face Angola at home in Kumasi on September 5, 2024, before traveling to Niger for their second Group F match on September 9, 2024. With a strong squad and a new captain at the helm, the Blackstars will be looking to make a statement in these crucial qualifying matches.
