
Odeefour Ogyeamansan Boahen KorKor II, the traditional ruler of Sunyani, on Tuesday 28th April, 2028, paid a visit to the affected court facilities—Circuit Court B and District Magistrate Court B—following the recent fire outbreak that disrupted judicial operations in the community.

He was accompanied by prominent members of the Sunyani Traditional Council, including Nana Boadi Akrofa II (Adontenhene), Nana Asante Krobea (Twafuorhene), Nana Addai Mununkum (Sunyanitifihene), Nana Appiah Kubi (Akyempimhene), and Mr. Ransford Antwi, Chairman of the Sunyani Customary Land Secretariat.
The delegation was received by key officials of the Judicial Service, led by Justice Joyce Boahen, Supervising High Court Judge for Bono, Bono East, and Ahafo Regions. Other officials present included Mr. Charles Baido (Director of Court Services), Mr. Noble Notifafa (Director of ICT), Mr. Ablade Cyllis (Director of Estate), Mr. Ernest Boakye (RAO, Ahafo Region), and Ms. Josephine Ehuren (RAO, Bono Region among others.

In his address, the Sunyanimanhene expressed sympathy with staff of the Judicial Service and stressed the urgency of restoring court operations.
He noted that no community can achieve meaningful development without a functional justice system, highlighting the need for swift reconstruction of the damaged facility.
Demonstrating strong commitment, Odeefour Ogyeamansan Boahen KorKor II, together with the Nananom of the Sunyani Traditional Council, pledged to financially support the reconstruction of the court building. He also committed to funding the installation of CCTV systems to strengthen security once rebuilding is completed.
He further called on residents of Sunyani—especially business leaders, investors, and corporate institutions—to contribute toward the rebuilding effort, describing it as a shared responsibility.
Additionally, he urged the Ghana Police Service to expedite investigations into the fire incident to ensure reconstruction can begin without delay.
