The Sunyanimanhene, Odeefour Ogyamansan Boahen Korkor II, has officially launched the Ogyamansan Community WiFi Project at Twene Amanfo Senior High Technical School (TASTECH) as part of efforts to improve access to digital resources and educational opportunities within the Sunyani Traditional Area.
The initiative, which begins with TASTECH and the Area 2 community, is expected to provide students and residents with reliable internet access to support academic research, learning, communication, and personal development.
Speaking during the launch ceremony, Odeefour Ogyamansan Boahen Korkor II explained that the project is not solely intended for students of TASTECH, but for the wider community to benefit from as well. According to him, access to the internet has become an essential tool for education and development in today’s world, making it necessary for communities to embrace digital transformation.
The revered chief described the initiative as the first of many similar projects planned for other parts of Sunyani in the near future. He expressed optimism that the WiFi project would positively impact education and help prepare the younger generation for future opportunities.
Odeefour Ogyamansan Boahen Korkor II also urged students and school authorities to manage the facility responsibly and ensure that it is used for meaningful and productive purposes rather than activities that could negatively affect their growth and education.
He further emphasized that the project forms part of broader efforts to ensure that Sunyani continues to produce great men and women who will contribute significantly to society and national development in the years ahead.
The launch of the Ogyamansan Community WiFi Project marks another important step toward community development and digital inclusion in Sunyani, especially in enhancing access to information and educational resources for young people.
