Entertainment analyst and blogger, Snr. Kwame Kusi, has made a startling prediction on Suncity Radio’s Showbiz 971, stating that no artiste from the Brong Ahafo Region will be nominated for the 26th Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA2025) Unsung category.
According to Snr. Kusi, the lack of unity among industry players in the region is the primary reason for this anticipated snub. “Every camp is trying to push their own artiste instead of coming together to support one deserving artiste,” he lamented.
Snr. Kusi emphasized that until the region presents a united front, focusing on a single talented artiste and pushing them to the top, the TGMA will continue to overlook the Brong Ahafo Region.
“All our artistes are battling for a spot in the 26thTGMA Unsung category, so who do we support now?”- he quizzed.
He cited the example of Imrana, the last artiste from the region to be nominated for the TGMA Unsung category. “Imrana’s success was due to the collective support and push from the masses, who felt he deserved it for his hit song ‘Imagine Say’,” Snr. Kusi explained.
The entertainment analyst urged industry players in the Brong Ahafo Region to put aside their differences and rally behind a single talented artiste to increase their chances of gaining national recognition.
Will the Brong Ahafo Region finally come together to support their own, or will Snr. Kwame Kusi’s prediction ring true? Only time will tell.
