Wensah Foundation Screens Over 170 Students for Cervical Cancer

Wensah Foundation International, in partnership with She Shells Foundation International, organized a cervical cancer education and screening program for female students of the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR), Catholic University College, Ghana.

The initiative, which screened over 170 students, aimed to raise awareness, educate young women on preventive measures, and provide free screening.

The program featured informative sessions by esteemed health professionals, emphasizing the importance of early detection and regular screening.

According to H.E. Lawrence Amoah, SRC President for CUCG, the program was “educative, helpful, and beneficial to the university community.” He expressed gratitude to Wensah Foundation and She Shells Foundation for their support.

The organizers are now appealing to corporate bodies and agencies to support their efforts and aid subsidize the cost of screening and helping them reach more people.

Isaac Osei Amponsah, CEO of Wensah Foundation International, revealed that their next target is to engage women in the corporate world who often neglect their health due to tight schedules. He also invited agencies to reach out to them to organize screening sessions at their premises, promising to bring a team of highly professional health workers.

Madam Mary Nartey, CEO of She Shells Foundation International, also emphasized the importance of partnerships in the fight against cervical cancer especially within the Bono Region.

This initiative is a step in the right direction, and we hope to see more organizations and individuals supporting this noble cause.
