According to a report by VOICE OF KNUST on X, a final-year student of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has met his untimely demise in a tragic accident.
Patrick Mensah, a BSc. Agric Biotech student, had just completed his final semester exams and was looking forward to graduation. However, his life was cut short in a devastating incident at a galamsey site in Manso.
According to VOICE OF KNUST on X, the uncle of the deceased revealed that his nephew had arrived home on Monday evening, seemingly in high spirits after completing his exams. However, tragedy struck the following day when Patrick visited a friend at the galamsey site.
“While helping to rescue a gentleman who had fallen into a pit, he ended up falling in himself,” the uncle said, recounting the events leading to Patrick’s death.
The news has sent shockwaves through the KNUST community, with friends and classmates taking to social media to express their condolences and pay tribute to the late student.
