Sabotage Exposed: Big Company Refuses Sponsorship for Meko Bono Festival 2024 Over a particular Bono Chief’s Involvement

In a shocking revelation, King Setho, the Chief Organizer of the Meko Bono Festival 2024 in Techiman, exposed a sabotage attempt by a big company during an interview with Adepa TV.

Despite the festival’s success, King Setho revealed that the team faced significant challenges during preparations, including a refusal of sponsorship from a major company due to the involvement of a specific Bono chief.

According to King Setho, the Meko Bono team met with the CEO of the company, who conditioned their sponsorship on the exclusion of a particular chief from the program.

The CEO explicitly stated that unless the chief was not invited, the company would not provide any financial support. However, if the team agreed to exclude the chief, the CEO offered to provide any desired amount for the festival’s organization.

King Setho and his team declined the offer, prioritizing the integrity and inclusivity of the festival over financial gain. Consequently, the company withdrew from the program, leaving the team to find alternative sources of funding.

This incident highlights the challenges faced by event organizers in navigating complex webs of power and influence. King Setho’s commitment to the festival’s principles and values serves as a testament to the importance of staying true to one’s vision, even in the face of adversity.

King, however expressed his sincere gratitude and appreciation to the Leaders of the Techiman Traditional council, and the entire people of Techiman for hosting this year’s festival and coming out in their numbers to support all the programs.

The Meko Bono Festival 2024 in Techiman went on to achieve success despite this setback, demonstrating the resilience and determination of the organizing team.
